I talk to my self when I am debating on a question that I am most qualified to answer. Recently I constructed a run in on one of my pastures. I also had a adjoining closed in part that I use for fencing and some grain storage and also plumbed in a sink. I put power in it few outlets and some exterior lights and some interior lights. Had to bury some conduit and pull wire for a sub panel for my power. About 150’ or so. Anyway my wife asked if I needed a permit. I told her I am not sure I will ask. So I walked into the bathroom looked myself straight in the eye and said do you need a permit or permission. Well pondered that for a moment ask about the pros and cons of said job cons won no regulators no raise in my taxes. So I promptly answered my self and I quote “ permit not required”.
