Back in 1965, I had a 1965 Corvette with the first offered big block engine. It had about 5000 miles and it used some oil and tended to foul plugs a little IF I drove around town too slow for too long. It had always had Conoco. I was told by a race car owner to switch to Mobil's best oil. I did and oil consumption dropped to less then half and no trouble with fouled plugs. So, I agree with Bill by my personal experiance. In a normal family sedan it prolly doesn't make a dern bit of diff.. By the way I regret not owening it now as there were only about 1500 of those with a very high preformance 396 cu 425 horse power Vets build. It had about 10:1 compression, solid lifters on a great cam and headers with the then new delco solid state ignition.. Red line was 6400RPM and could go well beyond but I didn't let it very often. all factory items special reguest. I didn't know it was going to be such a rare car. ralph
