Dan, If you want a small tractor and want to stay with a Ford, you should be looking at the 860 series Fords or possibly a 2000 or 3000 series Ford. Most of these tractors have the features you won't find in an 8N, like live PTO and hydraulics, power steering, etc. However, I am told that you should stay away from the Ford "selecto speed" transmission as they are a problem. The straight gearshift transmissions are better. I have not driven Fords with the Selecto Speed tranny, myself, only those with straight gearshift trannys.
