Hi all,
I'm looking for a stack of the original equipment slab weights for my 1969 Ford 5000 utility. I recently completed a restoration of this tractor with my dad and uncle. Please take a few minutes to read the story attached. I included a picture of the tractor and of the desired weights. Original part number was C5NN3A370B
I'll step back 50 years to when I was 5 years old and my dad bought a Ford 5000 tractor to help run our 200 acre dairy farm. I distinctly remember the day it was delivered and how proud my dad was of that tractor. Over the years we put many thousands of hours on the tractor raising crops for our dairy herd. As time went on farming became less than a lucrative adventure. It had been good to our family but it was time to move on and dad had an auction, the tractor was sold. I wanted to buy it but I barely had cash in my pocket to put gas in my car in those days. A few years ago my dad was diagnosed with cancer and it’s not a cancer that can be cured, it’s just a matter of time. One day dad and I were sitting around talking and discussing things we wish we had done but hadn’t. I mentioned the tractor and he looked long and hard at me and said, “let’s go find it”. So, long story short, we started on a journey that ended in locating the old tractor. It was in poor shape and not for sale. I had to buy another Ford 5000 tractor to replace it and pay money to boot but I eventually made a deal with the owner. Over the past year dad and I, with the help of my 84 year old uncle and his grandson, restored the old girl. It’s 50 years old this year and back to what it looked like the day it was delivered that spring morning in 1969. It’s a fun story, it was fun to restore, and full of lasting memories.

Today's Featured Article - Restoration Story: Fordson Major - by Anthony West. George bought his Fordson Major from a an implement sale about 18 years ago for £200.00 (UK). There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard. From the engine number, it was found that this Major was produced late 1946. It was almost complete but had various parts that would definitely need replacing.
