No. Obviously there are some applications where oil is the only practical fuel. But I would like to see much cleaner ocean vessels; today's freighters are among the worst polluters on the planet.
It should be noted that a lot of work is being done towards using wind and other alternative energy sources to reduce freighters' fuel consumption. One of the more promising solutions is the use of Flettner rotors to capture wind energy; there are a number of vessels using them today.
