First, around here the only people that by 2 cylinder John Deeres are collectors. I can't explain why they would pay so much. Most WDs on the other hand are still being used for something other than a lawn ornament. And because a company is no longer around doesn't mean it had a bad product. Allis had very good high performance equipment overall and very poor management but that is beside the point. Second, Shaw explained how he got beat pulling the same plow as his dad's 45 so horse power to weight wasn't an issue. You can always add weight but can't always take off unwanted weight on some tractors. Third, it's not the fault of Allis that the John Deere 60 wasn't as advanced as the 45. As stated earlier they used the same plow so it is not important. Finally, a 620 did pull 6,122# but at 1.3mph while a D-17 pulled 7,056# in second gear at 2.3mph. The mighty 720 pulled a sad 6,647# at 1.24mph with a full 5 horse power advantage over the D-17. WOW!!!! Very last I screw up my paragraph configuration and can't seem to fix the second one but that is also beside the point.
