When you pull the head, check it and the block deck with a steel straightedge. If it's not dead flat, it's never going to seal. While blocks rarely warp, heads often do. Even one episode of overheating will do it. Any machine shop can surface the head dead flat for you. The gasket, if it is a dead flat gasket, can be sealed but the best way to do this is with aluminum paint in a spray can. Be sure to read the label. The pigment must be 100% metallic aluminum. Some so-called aluminum paints actually have aluminum colored plastic balls in them. If it is an embossed ("printed") gasket, gasket sealer is never used unless the gasket manufacturer states what type of sealer to use. If the head bolts are being re-used for the ?th time, you might want to get all new ones so you don't have to go through this again and again. Be sure to follow the torque values and tightening sequence in the service manual to the letter.
