The older JD ones where built by McKee. I have a 275 which is a 7 1/2 foot model. I have ran it on as low of HP tractors as 50 HP. You would need a slow reverse on an tractor under 100 HP on anything around 8 foot or so.
I sold Farm King/Allied/Buhler (same brand just name changes over the years) snow blowers they are a good farm duty blower. Red Devil brand is pretty good too. Truthfully as long as it is a twin auger, two stage unit in the 7-8 foot size they would work for you. Lots of brands out there. Most use simple/common driveline parts.
It is to bad your so far from Iowa. I have a pretty nice Front mount Eskline 8 foot snow blower. It would be a nice unit for your JD 4020. It is complete and setup for JD mounting.

I’d probably plowed about 3000 acres (in my head anyway) by the time they found me. This is where my love for tractors started and has only gotten worse in my tender 50 yrs on this “green planet”.
