I have read articles which discribe the 560 as an "M" with a 60hp six cylinder engine. Those articles used words like "infamous" to describe rear end failures in the 560. On the other hand, the 730 was the ultimate developement of the "G" which can be described as "indistructable" and able to live under conditions which would convert the rear end and final drives of an "M" into scrap metal. I know that the components of the transmission and final drives of a 730 are massive, heavy things, and are really HARD to break, whereas a 560 can honestly be called "fragile" by comparison. The next thing is that the very FIRST words out of the mouth of someone trying to sell a 560 are whether or not the TA is any good. The second words out of the mouth of someone selling a 560 are whether or not it has the updates to prevent rear end failure! Moreover, you will hear repeated accounts of what happens when you chain the two tractors drawbar to drawbar and put both tractors in gear. In stock form, the 560s never win. A 560 does make a pretty good pulling tractor---it has a good engine that is easy enough to power up. It's just that the rear end wont take the power that it is possible for the engine to generate for very long. If you just have to have a Farmall with that engine to farm with, get a 706! And oh yes, the 730 Diesel used an engine which set fuel economy records which stood for 34 years.
