Oho! So you think that Old John Deeres need parts but the mighty IH tractors don't???? HAAAAA! Remember: the first question a prospective Farmall buyer HAS to ask is:" Is the TA any good?" If IH tractors never broke down or needed repairs, believe me, Farmers would have discovered that fact years ago and IHC would be the dominant player today, just like that Fantasy Farmer @ RED POWER likes to writer about, but you know something? IHC TRACTORS DO BREAK DOWN, DO WEAR OUT and DO NEED PARTS! Just be glad that your hearts desire tractors were/are popular enough so that some people make parts for them too! As for discussion of IHC f560 vs JD 720/730 it is interesting to note that the f560 was made until 1963---wanna compare a f560 to a 4010??? Well. DO YA?? Here's a REAL GOOD discussion topic: JD 4010D vs IHC f560D 1962 versions of both! That means you can't trot out a 806! Here's another discussion topic: 1957 JD 720 D vs 1957 IHC f450D. Here's another one: 1955 JD 70D vs 1955 IHC f400D. I'm also feeling very ecumenical. Here are some more "US" vs "THEM" discussion topics: Oliver 1750 vs IHC f706 (1966) AC D19 vs IHC f560 (1963) AC 190xt vs IHC f806 (1965) JD 5020 vs AC D21 II (1968) JD 4520 vs IHC f1256 (1969) Ford 8000 vs IHC f856 (1969) Ford 9N vs IHC H (1941) MM G1000 vs IHC f1206 (1965) Oliver 880 vs Case 830 (1960) My choices for the above are the OL 1750, AC D19, IHC f806, JD 5020, JD 4520, Ford 8000, Ford 9N, MM G1000 and the Oliver 880.

A Question for Dads This recent topic from the Tractor Talk discussion board is being highlighted because it is an awesome display of the caliber of individuals that have made this site their own. The young person asking questions received positive feedback and advice from total strangers who "told it like it is" with the care many reserve for their own kids. The advice is timeless... so although it isn't necessarily antique tractor related, it will be prominently displayed in our archives to honor those who have the courage to ask and those who have the courage to respond in an honest, positive manner.
