First, does anyone know how the Duramax diesel is doing so far? Any positive or negative things happening in the marketplace? Have they proven themselves so far to be the equal of the Dodge or Ford diesels? Second, here's an interesting story. A friend of mine is a new vehicle salesman for a local GM dealer in Edmonton, Alberta. It seems that some wheeler dealers are attempting to buy the trucks up here with Canadian dollars, then (however it's done) deliver it to the U.S. where they supposedly get pretty much the same dollar value for it but in US dollars (which are worth 50% more to a Canadian). So if you bought something here for $100 Canadian and sold it there for $100 US, that's $150 Canadian in your jeans. Apparently they're pretty careful who they deal with and one clue is the buyers want the truck with no extra dealer options (just the way it comes off the trailer) and they always pay cash. Some of them apparently even get older women to buy for them if they can. Supposedly the dealers get their knuckles rapped pretty hard from GM for selling to these characters and if it happens too often, they have a hard time getting any stock. Just thought that might be interesting to some of you, I don't know for sure how much (if any) of it is true.

The year was about 1967 and my father found a good used Ford 601 tractor to use on the farm instead of "Bob", our old mule. Now my grandfather had had this mule since the mid 40's and he was getting some age on him. S
