Accidents do happen. Had a friend in NJ that was an equipment jockey. He hit a bridge with the cab of a self propelled chopper. The bridge was 5 miles from his place and he knew he was to high but said he just forgot all about it untill he felt the truck jerk from the cab being sheared off. I hit a bridge with a grain auger last fall. I had pulled 10 identical 70ft augers under that bridge and was telling my wife how I use to get nervous when ever I went under it but now I don't even slow down. When I felt the jerk and realized I had clipped the bottom of the railroad bridge. The problem was I did not realize the hyd. lift cyclinder was extended about 2 inches. That raised the rear of the auger about a foot. I had to replace one section of tube. Cheap education as it could have been worse. Tom
