if you dont have a shapeing mill you can do it with a dremel or small angle grinder with a cutting blade on it, if you lay the pattern you want out on the face of the pedal, usually squares or diamond pattern, then carefully cut the pattern . dont go too deep 1/16 to 1/8th will last decades, now be aware while it works its time consuming, and your arm and other parts will get tied and force you to rest during this process
