As someone who owns a Ferguson TO-30 and a Ford 9N, of these two I much prefer the Fergie. Of course, I have much more blood, sweat and tears in the Fergie, having rebuilt it. The 9N was rebuilt, also, but not by me. The Ferguson has an OHV engine, the Ford a flathead. This makes top end maintenance easier, and the engine definitely has much more power. I believe the Fords are valuable as collector's items, since they are a bit of Americana, and many owners of large acreage homes seek them for mowing, since they have a recognizeable name. But from a technology standpoint, I believe the Fergie is a much better tractor. The collectors are seeking them, too. I was at an auction this summer where a TO-20 in BAD shape (it wouldn't start to hear how it ran) sold for $2200! For mowing only, I might try to find an A-C or some other brand, since they are much cheaper than these little 20-30 horse tractors with the 3-point. But that 3-point comes in real handy... Good luck - and heck, if the prices are right, buy both!
