Most car power steering pumps are pressure regulated to aprox 1100 psi. I have used them on tractor hydraulic systems to lift tillage tools and on truck hoists. They have good lifting power but not many gpm so are a little slow. With the internal pressure regulator blocked and an adjustible external one used, they will make 1500-2000 psi or whatever the belt drive can pull.
