: Can the IH cubs built around 1953, get mowers : for them to be mounted on? Price range? Size? If : attachments come with the cub, are they difficult : to get on? What is an average price for a : running, complete one? How about horsepower? : Can they be set up for garden cultivating? Where : does one get tillage tools for them? THANKS !! New mid-mount,3-spindle finish mowers ( 60-inch cut ), and single-spindle (42-inch cut ) semi-finish mowers are available from Woods. IH made its own finish mower of the same design mentioned above and with some searching these can be found used as is also the case with the Woods mowers. There is a web page called Tractor Buddies on which you can price the Woods mowers. Mott also made flail mowers for the Cub . The 4-foot mid-mount mower was the most popular configuration ,however, a rear mount version was also made. Mott no longer makes these but they can be found used. Mower prices will range from about $300 to $1200 ( used to new ). There are many attachments for the Cub and for the most part are easy to install. I would say that the average install time for one person would be about 30 minutes. I have found the most difficult installation for one person to be the cultivators. The selling price of a Cub is a hard thing to nail down. There are a lot things that factor into it including condition, location, accessories, and implements, etc. You should do some research , look at a few tractors and make notes about the price , condition etc. Things that add/detract from the value ( at least to me ) are wheel weights , hydraulics, completeness, etc. The Cub was designed for cultivating which is the reason for the offset design. The offset gives the operator a clear, straight-ahead view of the row being cultivated. Implements often come with a tractor but if not, they are fairly easy to find. Prices for implements will vary depending on location and supply. Some things that seem plentiful and are inexpensive here in Maine are ,relatively speaking , scarce and expensive in other areas , and the opposite is true. Implements can be found on the internet, at dealerships ,in fields , in buy/sell publications and the like. Nothing like a long-winded response. I hope this helps and if you need more let me know. John
