The name Mecum is synonymous with high-end items targeted at high-end buyers. Bidders show up to spend a lot of money and often to be seen spending it. It's part of the spectacle. They do get burned at times: often an item will sell for an amount that far exceeds any reasonable appraisal, only to find itself offered a year or more later and fetching several hundred thousand dollars less. Hubris and a desire to win at all costs can be expensive. Probably not a real concern with the Mecum crowd.
I do enjoy the local sales around here, where buyers fight over a box full of motorcycle parts, a lawnmower blade, a busted chainsaw, maybe a dustpan and old mop and it all sells for $17.
Same cast of characters seems to show up week after week. Probably the same situation for the Mecum sales.
BTW didn't watch the video, but that's what I know about Mecum

After some research of convert or not, I decided to go ahead, the main reason being that this tractor was a working tractor, not a show tractor (yet). I did keep everything I replaced for the day I do want to restore her to showroom condition.
