We had an 806 diesel with 25,000 hours on it. Engine was overhauled at about 12,000 hours just because it was using a quart of oil per day. When we sold it it was using about a quart per day again under full load. Original TA and only 1 clutch put in. Our 1086 only made 7,000 hrs before overhaul and usually needs a clutch every 1,500 hrs or so and is on its 3rd TA. They just don't make them like they used to. Same maintenance on both tractors. My girlfriend's Dad has a 2-180 White with a 3208 Cat that went 15,000 hrs before overhaul and now has about 18,000. He has put one clutch in, everything else original. Maintenance and what kind of load your pulling are big factors in longevity. The longer you can keep the engine running steady the better - starts and stops kill. That's why a car is good for over 250,000 highway miles but might be lucky to clock 75,000 miles of short trips in town. Steven
