I've been looking for a replacement for my damaged and rusty pickup box for some time checked internet, Facebook and craigslist. Found numerous listings most junk those that were not were priced outrageously. Found an obscure add on c-list 2002 Chevy parts truck and a phone number nothing else. Called no answer no voice mail set up finally sent text of inquiry. 2wks later guy texts me back to say it has a good box. No price no pictures. After 2 more weeks I got 2 pictures of the box still on the truck it looked good from these pics. Fortunately he was only 15 miles from me, so after another week finally got to go see it. He wouldn't tell me his last name if he had I've known his father most of my life. and knew where it was located. Young man 17 years old goes to high school and works for his dad nights and weekends, doesn't even carry his phone with most of the time. Bought the box and both doors and some other parts for less than half of what I've seen on other adds.
I really lucked out everything was in excelent shape (truck had hit a tree and frame was beyond repair). The young man has since called me and asked if I needed help to work on my truck.
It may have taken 6 weeks to get this happening but every once in awhile I get pleasantly suprised. Before this I was ready to swear off C-list

Unless you are from another planet, physically or otherwise, I don’t think our internal combustion buddies will talk and tell us their problems. But, on the other hand, there is a secret language that our mechanical companions readily do speak. It is an interesting form of communication that involves all the senses of the listener. In this series we are going to investigate and learn the basic rudimentary skills of understanding this lingo.
