As for exhaust, I replaced the exhaust manifold/catalytic converter and O2 sensors a couple of years ago, pretty sure it was under $200. I had my local trusted muffler shop patch the rest up a couple of times, but a deep pothole loosened the whole system up last month. I could buy a SS cat-back system for $150 delivered, but figured they could install one for not much more. Well, they chose this project to rod out my tailpipe, if you get my drift.
Left the original down pipe after the converter, just shortened it up to in front of the broken part, then bent up some super-thin plain steel pipe and a loud steel muffler, all of which will last 12 months and one week, no doubt. And took $392 of my cash, to top it all off.
I hate it when a 25-year business relationship gets chucked out the window. Looks like I need a new go-to muffler man.
