Transporting tractors with Military Vehicle questions

Looking to transport my tractors up to 10k# and I've seen some interesting deuce and one half trucks but I'm a newby on these. How much weight can you load on a deuce and a half? Should I go to a five ton? What range of years are the best to buy? What the heck is a whistler diesel? Did they ever make rollback beds on these? Could you recommend any forums or websites that won't cost me money? Love to converse with anyone interested or knowledgeable on the topic. Thanks in advance.

Earthmaster Project Progress Just a little update on my Earthmaster......it's back from the dead!
