I am sure that if you tweaked the pump on your 5600 it would run a 5x5 baler with ease. There is almost no difference between a 56-6600 tractor. Here is my view from our farm. I bale using 2 4020s to each run a Hesston 4x4. Last year the clutch started slipping bad on the one my wife bales with so we swapped it out with our restored 5600. Now she does not want the 4020 back! She has baled THOUSANDs of bales using (her) 4020 so she has some seat time. This is what she said. "5600 is shorter and much quieter than the JD. She likes the flat top fenders that are higher to rest her arm on while driving. Turning the PTO on or off is easier than reaching foreword on the right of the syncro 4020 and having to push firmly to engage. She also likes the hydraulics under her right knee over the dash mount Deere." It handles this baler as well as the 4020 even hills, but uses 1/2 the fuel. Each morning when I grease and fuel up for the day the two 4020s always used a gallon or two the same amount of diesel. Been this way for eight years. So I can say it uses 1/2 the fuel with pretty good experience. She baled all of our hay fields but the first one with the Ford. Now how to get her back to the Deere? I always liked seeing people slow down on the road to see us baling with the same tractors and balers in the same field. Guess I might have to look for a second Ford to bale with. LOL. The Ford 56-6600 tractors are way under rated for how much work they can actually get done. With some weights and good rubber they will surprise most guys. Hooker up to the baler and go!! Al
