You're exactly right about Dexta'. You can still get more parts for it than you'll need too. I have trouble with JD being able to supply parts for 1998 model tractors but Perkins has stores full of engine parts for the Dexta. The only parts I have'nt found and instant supplier for are the differential and tranny cogs. The Super Dexta was what Ford introduced as a Ford 2000 after they split with Ferguson. When Perkins would'nt let Ford claim the engine Ford came up with another engine but Ferguson kept using it til today. A new MF 231 still uses the 152cid Perkins with a turbo now. You can step the Super Dexta up to around 58-60 pto hp with it but you can't stand on it long because the differential won't stand it.
