My dad bought an 832 new in 1964 - traded in a 42D/JD on it. Two years later we put a Case loader on it and then a year later we installed factory powersteering and a Meade Cab. It was our main tractor until 69 when I bought a 930 Case. My brother and I still have the 830 and we estimate it to have about 15000hrs. on it (hour meter hasn't worked for years). Because it has to run every 2-3 days all winter to feed cattle and move snow ,the motor has had two sets of rings and a set of sleeves and pistons, injector lines, a couple or three clutches, a top sliding gear shaft and first gear sliding ,one set of rear tires, two sets of front tires, at least two sets of front wheel brgs.,a new and larger bucket on the fel. along with a larger cyl. and I think we have put seal kits in both main lift cyls. We changed it over to 2-12v batteries about 1970 and its had many sets since, along with starter rebuilds because of all the cold winter starting, along with at least 3-4 gen. and reg. rebuilds and a couple of water pumps. We have the motor out of it right now (it turned a rod brg) -my own fault - It had a little noise in the engine and we kept using it and kept saying we'll fix it when we got more time- well I quess we got time now!! I figure if we fix it up right it'll probably run another 20yrs or so. I doubt it the new ones of any make will be as dependable over a period of 38 yrs as this one has been -and its not done yet!!! I still remember the day I drove it home from town -I was one proud kid- doesn't seem that long ago!!

The golden corn ripens well and early, the stoking, stacking,.... the drawing in with the tractors and trailers and a few buck rakes thrown in, and possibly a heavy horse. It would be a great day for the collies and the terrier dogs, rats and mice would be at the bottom of the stacks so the dogs, would have a busy time hunting and killing, all the corn was gathered and ricked in what we c
