Good question. I know of 2 guys who had Ford Majors back in the day. Had Ford AG dealers 35 miles south, 25 miles west, 30 miles north and no idea east, not for at least 40 miles. Plus a Car dealer plus AG 6 miles away. That one the owner had no interest in selling AG products so at most he had a couple of used tractors and maybe one new 2000 or 3000 (in the 60's) on the lot. Ford forced the AG stuff on him. I think given the area he could have really sold a lot of tractors had he tried. So I doubt there were separate dealers.
As far as I know there was no distinction between USA made and British made for dealers. And I'm sure you had the option of picking which one you got. I can see a dealer really discounting one to get it off the lot. I can't see him insisting that you take a British one when you wanted and American one. Farmers just were not built that way. It's one of the reason the propitiatory hitch systems failed. No farmer was going to buy a tractor and then be told he could only buy a certain brand on implement. So too would have been true with tractors.
