It's my understanding,that Mr. Henry Ford and Mr. Harry Ferguson had an agreement pertaining to who would be compensated for the three point hitch design ( Mr.Harry Ferguson) and whom would be compensated for the Supplying the Tractor ( Mr.Henry Ford).
At some point, Mr. Henry Ford decided that he would supply a tractor and install Mr. Harry Ferguson's patented three point Lift design......as the Atlantic ocean was wide and Mr. Ferguson would never be aware that Mr. Ford was helping himself to Mr. Ferguson three point hitch design.
When the cat got out of the bag and the whole debacle ended up in the world court.
Mr. Ford had to pay Mr. Ferguson a set amount for each three point hitch he used, as well each of Mr. Fords Tractors must be badged FERGUSON SYSTEM as long as Mr. Ford continued to install Mr. Ferguson patented designed lift.
I may be mistaken, but the above is how I interpret the history between Ferguson and Ford.
