I think the whole antique market is going down. I have been able to pick up stuff around here cheaper than ever, some tractors that I was told before were "not for sale at any price" are now dirt cheap!

As for the John Deeres, for an example there was a complete, perfect running JD 60 at the salvage yard this summer that they were going to tear apart because they could sell a couple pieces for more than the whole tractor was worth.

Dunno for sure what is happening, but this is a good time to get into the hobby!
