I've always owned open station Masseys and Fords. In 2017 my wife and I bought our first cab new tractor an M6060 Kubota. My only regret is that I didn't buy it a lot sooner. It is perfect for my haying in summer and feeding in winter. I agree with others, I don't believe you will be able to get a backhoe to work well with a cab tractor, however, just how much hoe work will you be doing over the years? If you are like the rest of us, probably a lot less than you might think. (I have a Case 580B hoe and don't use it enough to really justify keeping it. Actually I do more freeby work for neighbors than I do for myself) So here's my thought on the hoe, when you need one, go rent a compact one for the day and let the rental company do the maintenance on it. Buy yourself a new cab tractor (the M6060 is 63 hp by the way) If I ever buy another new one it will be another Kubota. My front license plate says it all for me --Friends don't let friends drive green and yellow tractors. Just a joke John Deeres are good tractors just too high priced for me and what I do. Just my thoughts, Keith

The young person asking questions received positive feedback and advice from total strangers who "told it like it is" with the care many reserve for their own kids. The advice is timeless... so although it isn't necessarily antique tractor related, it will be prominently displayed in our archives to honor those who have the courage to ask and those who have the courage to respond in an honest, positive manner.
