Paul...I think we bothh have very valid points. It's unfortunate that so many of thhe smaller farms put so much trast and faith in the Farm Bureau. The way our government works is a sort of "squeeky wheel get's the grease" mentality. Enviromentalists are great at this game. But also big business. I do believe it is damaging to the small farmer. But like the guy who responded about Rush calling this situation the result of "enviromental wackos" is just the kind of small minded thinking that produces no solutions. Just a bunch of dienchanted people. I disagree that manure runoff and vegetation decay are the same thing. The problem as I see it is just the shear volume of nutrients going in to a stream at any given time. But the important point I think we have both made is that there are no black and white answers to lifes problems. Thanks for the conversation. By the way, where are ayou located? I'm in Upstate New York, south of Rochester. Take Care Steve
