Howdy Dave - that question showed up on the forum some time ago and the guy who asked thought that maybe the Olivers were pretty much a GM 6-clinder block. I think he got some agreement but mostly disagreement from his responses. I had also heard that somewhere about the GM engines. A tractor book here lists Oliver engines as being their "own", however that some book says that the Massey 44's, etc. had their "own" engine and in fact those were made by Continental, but the Continental name didn't show up on the castings like on the Massey 4-cylinder Continental flat heads.
