well we are behind, but not as bad as some of the rest of ya'll. The neibors got most of there grain and Taters in.. we usually wait to put grain in, when we plant grain it usually is a nurse crop for alfalfa..The price of alfalfa seed, we have found it better to wait until there is no chance of frost.. I had 30 acres of lower ground plowed and disked, waiting to triple K it and drill it. In order to get to a pivot of higher ground that is established hay (that is turning yellow from too much rain) you have to cross part of that lower ground.. well dad took a chance with the 3010 with duals and flotation fronts... now I need lots of chain and a couple of dry days.(anybody want to wallow 1/4 mile in waist deep muck and hook a chain?). Im at the point now that the alfalfa seed is going to go back in storage.. and if/when (god willing) things dry up im going to drill a crop of oats and cut it for hay.. well thats the plan anyway.. you know how those go...
