We call them china ball trees. Never tried to burn spring cut trees. I wait for the seeds to mature in fall; cut the tree down; and then wait for the leaves to turn brown and dry out before I burn them.
Tallow tree seeds have more diesel per acre than soybeans so while the fire starts slow once the seed starts burning it is like you dumped diesel on the fire.
