OK Jim bear with me, going to take time to tell you what is happening. On the front end of the injector pump is a fuel control solenoid, that unit has two coils one is powered with current when you turn the key to START and it pulls in to permit fuel to the pump, THEN when you drop the key back to the RUN position the other coil is powered. Your secondary or run coil called the hold in coil draws less current and is supposed to just hold the pin open. Your is dropping out, now several things can cause that. Firs is weak battery, second weak ground, then weak coil or connection. Pretty easy to check. Send me an e mail with phone number and I will talk you thru the check.
