There was originally an oval tin plate on the left front side of the tractor's transmission but it's obviously gone if you're searching for a serial number. The serial number was also stamped into the top of the transmission/differential case on the left top side in the vicinity of the clutch pedal. It is stamped into the machined surface of the housing between the cast shifting platform and the steel plate which covers the differential area. Both of these are bolted down and as I mentioned already, the serial number will be between them. It will not be visible at first glance because those numbers get filled with paint and all sorts of stuff so you'll have to do a bit of scraping and wire-brushing to see them but they will be there. Sometimes they are not stamped in too deeply into the steel. Once you find them, post the numbers and somebody will ID the year for you.
