After reading all the doom and gloom stories of the 80's, I figured I should say my two cents worth. I'm in the moldmaking industry, and we had our normall ups and downs, but all in all, we were never short of work. I started my shop in '85, and after about 2 months of nothing, our shop prospered. It's worst now for the tooling and moldmaking industry, because the large companies are sending most of the work overseas to take advantage of the cheap labor. I've been in a recession for the last 4 years. Even the so-called recession when old man Bush was Pres, I always thought that little downturn was caused by the Media, with all the negative reporting. They hated old man Bush almost as much as they hated Reagan. I invested in new machinery right in the middle of that.....so I guess it all depends on what part of the work sector you were in...
