Too many factors to give a correct answer. I have mine tested every year no matter what I think their condition is. Has saved my tail a couple times. Also by testing under the microscope you can normally test when they are wearing down. An old cattle farmer told me when I was about 11 or 12 that the bull is half your herd. If he doesn’t do his part it will put a hit on your numbers and your wallet. Also a great rule of thumb I read once is one cow per month of age of the bull up to 36 months. Pushing a bull too hard especially early is a common fallacy among yearling bulls.
