Almost all 30s had live pto, very rare to find one w/out live pto. The Hi-Lo range shift lever is located on the frame just after the belt pulley. Have heard that about 1 in 6 were made without the Hi-Lo option, but don't know if this is true. 30,000+ 30s were made and is easily the most common Cockshutt available. Structurally sound machines, but weak spot is low oil pressure in the Buda engine. Serial number is stamped on the top left or right frame rail adjacent to the engine and there is a published table that will yield the # and year of production. Good tin is rather challenging to locate. In my mind, a tractor with good tin alone, free engine and decent rear wheels (as calcium is usually a culprit) is worth $300-$500 (if I was looking for one). Good luck

After some research of convert or not, I decided to go ahead, the main reason being that this tractor was a working tractor, not a show tractor (yet). I did keep everything I replaced for the day I do want to restore her to showroom condition.
