i have had the best luck with GoodYears and yokohamas. have Michelins on my wifes car. have held up well but are very harsh riding.
my daughter has General altimax 43's on her car. they have been ok and were a consumerreports best buy and were quite resonable $wise. have had ok luck with firestones but tread didn't last very long. my inlaws had 100,000miles on a set of bridgstones on their silverado a few years ago.
my dad has bought cheap no-name or sams club tires for is old 1986 F150 (70,000miles) that sits in the garage 90% of the time. those cheap tires go bad even inside out of the sun and not on the road.
