Hi Dane, Unless you plan on expanding your activity later and you just have extra money to spend, you don't need a large tractor for 5 acres. I'm not really familar with Mahindra, but some of the posts have bragged on them. First, about the PTO, the constant running or live PTO is great for mowing. The tractor can stop without the mower having to stop also. Owners of the older tractors that don't have live PTO often use an over-ride clutch to accomplish this feature. It is also safer as you can stop the tractor faster. The two stage clutch is used with the live PTO so that you can change gears or stop by depressing the clutch only half way. If you depress the clutch fully, you can then engage or dis-engage the PTO. I have a Massey-Fergson 231 with the above features that would probably be too large for your needs. I also have a Massey-Fergson 1240 which is the size tractor I would recommend. It has the live PTO with electric on/off switch. Easy to use. It has a forward & reverse shuttle lever on steering column so that you can go forward and backward without shifting gears. This is the feature you say you would like to have. I bought this tractor for my wife to mow around the house with a 5 ft. finishing mower. It's a great combo. Finally, the blade. I have a box blade which is great for moving dirt. It will grade my drive also, but a plain blade is better for working drives. The blade can be angled and tilted to allow dirt to be moved to the side. I rambled too long. Good Luck.

After my grandfather’s death in 1955, J.P. Rollins, son of the landowner, used the tractor. In the winter 1985, while in his possession the engine block cracked and was unrepairable. He had told my father
