Skinny guys often have high blood sugar ? I never heard that one, but the "facts" seem to change on a daily basis. I am 67 and eat whatever I want. 138 lbs. and my blood sugar is fine. I have no idea what "BMI" is and do not care enough to look it up. One day coffee will kill me and the next day it will help me live another 10 years. Same for drinking wine. Much is a crap shoot as far as I can tell, I love McDonalds double quarter pounders with cheese and bacon and eat a lot of them.
My parents were both overweight and both struggled with adult-onset diabetes. At that time, they were told to lose weight, certainly not stay fat. I also had a young female cousin who at age 22, was advised by a MD to take up smoking cigarettes to keep her diabetes in check.
