That seatbelt discussion is what goes on near everyday between my wife and I. I hate them and try not to wear them. SHE insists that I do. And now with our newest car? IF I do NOT put it on - it drives me nuts with warning chimes. Even when I am off road in the deep woods.
This state is funny. No helmet law for motorcycles going 80 MPH on the highway. But I have to wear one on my little four wheeler in the woods? Note - I break the law and DO not wear one. I DO carry one and IF I ever see a DNR cop in the woods, I hope I can get it on quick.
I took my native Michigander wife to the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont once, maybe 10 years ago. I had been bragging up the Green Mountains telling her they were even prettier then what we had in central New York. So we finally went. Ends up they were not any better. Just as nice, yes. Funny how memories can play tricks. No question that central New York Appalachian mountains and Adirondack mountains, as well as the Green Mountains in northern Vermont are beautiful. So are the Great Lakes here. After years of living in places where every step I took was either up a hill or down a hill - I really like the relative flatness of this area. Plus a lot less regulation, and a lot more unspoiled and undeveloped land and shorelines. I used to live in a little town named Albany in Vermont, not far from the Canadian border. That is where I went to visit. The guy who used to be my boss in the sugar woods now has a road named after him and it is not the same as it used to be. Neither am I, I guess.

Today's Featured Article - 12-Volt Conversions for 4-Cylinder Ford 2000 & 4000 Tractors - by Tommy Duvall. After two summers of having to park my old 1964 model 4000 gas 4 cyl. on a hill just in case the 6 volt system, for whatever reason, would not crank her, I decided to try the 12 volt conversion. After some research of convert or not, I decided to go ahead, the main reason being that this tractor was a working tractor, not a show tractor (yet). I did keep everything I replaced for the day I do want to restore her to showroom condition.
