A friend of mine had a dad who went to Vietnam in those days and was exposed to agent orange. He was also a heavy smoker for the next 40 years and passed away about 10 years ago of complications of lung cancer which also spread to the brain area. By reporting things just so by the doctor, his widow’s benefits increased if agent orange was a cause, rather than smoking. Statistics obviously become manipulated, yes. Mostly because there are these types of simple incentives to do so. Draw your own conclusions on the national level.
