John, before you start going on about recycling do some in depth research into to it. DO NOT research it with some earth website. They are going to tell you what they want you to hear.
But recycling batteries/paper/plastic is not as ecologically friendly as it sounds. If fact some of the processes involved are quite potentially hazardous. Why do you think most plastic recycling is done outside of the US and Canada? We have been shipping plastics to China and such. The reason it's so important now is that China has stopped taking all that plastic.
Fast growing trees? Had a couple of places try that here. Once harvested and the stumps were pulled out they have not been replanted into trees. Guess that's working out well. I love how the tree huggers keep telling us that . "Fast growing trees" and yet they have failed to tell us WHICH ONES! Or to develop one. The guys that planted the pulp wood trees here put em in and watched em grow 15 years. Must not have been very profitable.
We have ome of the lowest pollution levels in the world per person. All this green nonsense and carbon tax stuff has absolutely NOTHING to do with pollution or anything else environmentally related. It has everything to do with the "one world" movement. You can research that too.
And don't get me wrong. I'm good with them getting rid of plastic bags and straws. But please don't take a leak down my back and try to tell me it's rain.
