There isn't much to go wrong with an antenna. Try putting on a new balun before getting a new antenna. They are also called a matching transformer. I thought lightning took out all of my tv's but it was the balun. Just a few bucks at the home improvement stores.
And my antenna is made out of a board and scrap wire.
