Put power steering on both Ford 4000's I inherited, Dad's 69 model and Grandpa's 64. I had gotten used to PS on the tractors I'd bought, had to have it.
That 4000 of Dads, he bought new, had a one arm loader on it with no PS when I was a kid. It was rough, but still beat a pitchfork. Put one of those Turkish built kits on it. Yeah, can't use a loader on it anymore, but I don't need it for that.
Grandpa's 4000 was just hard to steer, even after I lubed the snot out of everything. Guy had a used aftermarket PS kit in the classifieds to fit Grandpa's 4000, works great.
Neither one of those tractors gets used that much, they're here more for sentimental reasons, but I enjoy it when I do find a reason to get them out. Got the tedder on dad's 4000 now.
