I have a 60" Ariens comm zero turn, and my experience is exactly what others have posted. Don't turn on wet grass, or if you do, be very careful or it will tear. Try to avoid turning uphill on slopes, if you need to be very gentle.
There's a large polar moment of inertia(frame, deck, front wheels, etc) forward of the rear tires, which makes it hard for the rear wheels to do both torque and turn.
I agree it would not be wise to modify the weight, just know and follow the limitations of the beast.
