I have to take exception to the statement about not feeding the cats. You need to feed them a little dry food about every other day and keep fresh water out for them. Cats love fresh water. Milk does not agree with about 50% of the cats around. It is too rich for their systems and it can upset their stomachs. Should you chose to give them milk mix it with about 1-2 parts clean water and they will be fine. Cats do not get lazy if they are fed. Cats, like humans are one specie of animal that hunts for pleasure. In fact when the hunting is good cats will bring you an "offering" of a dead mouse or rat. They are taking care of their "family": you. Do with the offering as you wish! *L* Ps..We love our cats. Thank goodness we have inlaws in the country with a small farm to help us care for all of them. One thing to keep in mind about cats and mice: both get fleas and fleas carry tape worm larvae. When the cat eats a mouse it gets the worm into its system and they have to be dewormed occasionaly. Your vet can give you an inexpensive dewomer and instructions on its use. Take care of your cat(s) and they can give you years of company and basically free pest control.
