Yesterday I attended the Summer show for the Oliver collectors that was held on the DeLong farm located northeast of Emporia,KS...The Delong family has a huge collection of Olivers,Whites, and other tractors-lots of equipment-etc..Some tractors were hauled by collectors from as far away as Pennsylvania..Even though I was 160 miles from home I ran in to lots of people that I knew...There was much to see and lots of pictures were taken...It was a fantastic show with wheat cutting, plowing, hay baling, silage chopping-etc..I left the show a little after 3 PM and drove 170 miles east to attend a MSTPA tractor pull at Clinton,MO...It was a long and fun filled day..
I've known this guy for about 50 years and had a chance to drive this awesome 1900 Oliver with a 3 bottom roll over plow...The soil was plenty wet and pulled tough..There were huge slabs but the locals said it will work down..It will probably go to double crop beans...I saw lots of beans being planted yesterday..Some places in KS have had over 40" of rain so far this year...
It will only let me post 7 pictures so I will try more tomorrow..
