About a year ago at a farm auction I watched this character bid some 15' cattle panels (all used) to $16.00 each. I took great delight in being able to inform him, afterwards, how proud I was for him to support the seller's auction like that, but if he still didn't have enough panels, he could run on over to the local Farm supply store, where they were being sold, NEW, for $10.99 each and that they'd be happy to sell him all he wanted. The surprised, but sour look was priceless! It certainly does PAY to do a little research before you go to an auction. That is why people ask "What is the value of a particular model tractor?" here on these boards.

Restoration Story: Fordson Major - by Anthony West. George bought his Fordson Major from a an implement sale about 18 years ago for £200.00 (UK). There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard. From the engine number, it was found that this Major was produced late 1946. It was almost complete but had various parts that would definitely need replacing.
