Drivers in general are getting worse and worse. many of the younger ones just point the car and go. no care or concern on how to get there or anyone or anything around them.
over the past year or so i keep getting nearly hit turning left onto side roads. its not the people on the main road. its the person sitting on the side road at the stop sign waiting to go. Especially if i have to wait for a car on the main road going the other way to pass before i can turn. I cannot tell you how many times, even though i am plainly sitting there waiting to turn left, the car on the side road starts to go before i start to make my turn. of course when they move and start to go they make it harder for me to turn and i have to swing out further, taking more time and holding both of us up. i don't get it. the last time a guy in a bmw had to slam on his breaks so he didn't hit me as i was turning left. ??????????!!!!!!!!!!!!! i just don't get this phenomenon.
the bigger problem on all roads is people not staying in their lane and constantly hugging or crossing the center line.
also alot of people turning left into another road take the center of the road during the turn. even if you're already there.
i've lived in Norther Indiana for 25 years. it still amazes me that the local drivers will do anything to not put their brakes on if a car is stopped on the road to turn left. I swear many don't even take their foot off the gas. some berms aren't that good to drive on. really dangerous here as the berms are the Amish highway, including buggies, bikes, skidloaders (they use like cars), and pedestrians. they usually are wearing black or dark blue. i'm amazed more haven't been hit.
